Aluminium inquiry.
The United States Justice Department is investigating whether aluminium producers violated US anti-trust laws by restricting primary aluminium production. Alcoa, Reynolds, Alumax and Kaiser Aluminum said they had been notified about the investigation. The companies have been asked to supply documents. -- Bloomberg.
Reynolds may sell.
Richmond, Virginia, Monday.
Reynolds Metals Co, the world's third-largest aluminium producer, says it may leave the goldmining business by selling its remaining goldmines in Australia. Reynolds sold its 40 per cent stake in the Boddington mine, the company's largest goldmining operation, to Poseidon Gold last month. -- Bloomberg.
